Being an 8th grader this year is slightly different. It feels like a baby senior. Simply because this is my last year at Higgins. I like to think about it as if I'm “almost done” but this is not over yet. After 8th grade, I will be going to Clarksdale High School. Honestly, I’m kinda ready to leave Higgins. This year is different from last year. The teachers are different, the rules are different, the students are different and the classes. Everything has changed. This year they are more strict. In fact, an example is they’re taking prom away from us. Simply because we “can’t afford it”. I just don’t understand how they can afford fences to build around the school but can’t afford for us to have prom. I mean it’s really not fair. Last year, the former 8th graders had an amazing prom. It’s clearly not fair, we deserve a chance to experience our first prom just how they had the chance to experience it. In my opinion, I feel like they are spending the money on unnecessary.

Gay? Which one? Happy or homosexual? This entry is actually a trending topic. Homosexuality, I feel nothing about it. I don’t feel like it’s right or wrong. If someone wants to be gay, than so be it. I feel like there shouldn’t be any judging in lesbian people. People choose to switch it up a little bit, but being different is A Okay. So many people are going from straight to gay. It isn’t a problem to me
Over the years, people have been discriminating lesbian people so much. I think that they should stop because everyone is going to change some time in life and they wouldn’t want to be harassed about it. In this generation, people seem to not think about what comes out their mouths and how other people feel. They always think about clout and getting laughs from people around them. They are who they wanna be. Nobody should be judged for who they wanna be, that’s wrong. Basically, gay people are not a problem to me. They can do whatever they want. It’s their choice how they want to live their life. It’s not my place to judge somebody about their sexuality.I never had a problem about gay people and never will. There are millions and millions of lesbian people in this world and shouldn’t nobody have a problem about it. What is a “relationship” actually defined as? To me, a relationship is when two or more people have actual emotion for one another. In this generation, a relationship is when two people call each other “bae” or “girlfriend” and “boyfriend.” Everyone’s mind is corrupted with the wrong way to live life. People are filling their minds with things that they are not supposed to fill them with. Children are maturing at the wrong way. People in this generation are getting into relationships at unsuitable ages. In my opinion, the appropriate age for a relationship is whenever you start paying bills and get a job. I feel this way because you might take the wrong turn and start catching feelings for this person and you might end up spending your life with this person. If you catch feelings, you might move with this person and they might break your heart and leave you with nothing. But, you wouldn’t have to worry about it because you have a job and money so you can just bounce back and lose feelings and get back on track.
Relationships are not just dating someone, it also means the connection you have with people or things. For example, you and your mom could have a good and close relationship while you and your dad on the other hand, may not be so close. You could also have a relationship with an object for example, you grandmother could have given you a bracelet before her death and you have a relationship with the bracelet as if it was her. Overall, in my opinion I feel like relationships should be on hold for this generation for numerous reasons. People this generation are getting too carried on and are ruining their lives with relationships. My mother told me “You came to this earth by yourself and you’re gonna leave by yourself, You don’t need nobody.” I feel like she is telling the exact truth. Over the years of life, God is going to remove people from your life for a reason. Therefore, you don’t need a relationship. I like all kinds of hair. I mostly like natural hair. It is soooooo pretty to me. Most of all black girls have natural hair. Natural hair is like a special feature of black people. I also like things like braids, curls, and straight hair. I like box braids, lemonade braids, crochets, sew-ins, feed in braids and jumbo twists. Most of the time, you see black girls with one of these hairstyles or their natural hair. In natural hairstyles, I like high-puffs, two buns, two french braids, bantu knots, scalp braids and other amazing creative hairstyles.
In my opinion, black african-american females are very creative. So many people have come up with so many beautiful hairstyles that fit every girl in the world. I can´t cap though, caucasian women have come up with some creative hairstyles also. It's just that the african american natural hairstyles look better to me in my honest opinion. To me , white women discriminate natural hair way too much in this generation. It is very unique to me how our ancestors had natural hair and it followed us. The way that african american women and caucasian girls have this like segregation but with hair. African american women and young ladies have tangled, matted, and afro-like hair. On the other hand, caucasian women and young girls have this perfect, straight, healthy and long hair. Both are beautiful in their own ways even though they are nothing alike. Caucasians seem to criticize natural hair at their most. Some schools even say that students cannot come to school with natural hair which I feel like is unnecessary. What does hair have to do with education? NOTHING AT ALL!!! That goes to show that caucasians do not look at natural hair as pretty or beautiful. In six years from now, I plan to not be in Clarksdale. There is nothing in Clarksdale for me and my future career. I plan to be a professional beautician. 6 years from now, I will be in Atlanta doing hail, nails, makeup, and tattoos. When I turn 16, I plan to be staying in Atlanta with my aunt, preparing for my career. I will try to get my life in check and fix my attitude. In six years from now, my whole life will change. From my attitude to the way I carry myself.
