At the age of 18 most children believe that they are "grown." However, I was taught that when you can pay your own bills and ultimately, be able to provide for yourself, you are considered to be G-R-O-W-N.
I often also hear the saying, "age is nothing but a number." This saying puzzles me because age is not just based on how old you are, in fact it reflects your maturity level.
When you're 18 people have high expectations for you. Hopefully when I'm 18 I'm still be the same joyful, loving, smart A'keirah that everyone knows me as now. There were few things that would be different about me. For instance, I'd be taller (LOL) and an expert on many things. My name would be familiar to a multitude of people for dance, contortion, and acting.
But, before anything I'd have to get a job to get on my feet first. I could either work at a restaurant or a store, while I work on to pursue my dream careers.
When I'm 18 I want to be successful. Not only will people have high expectations for me when I'm 18 but I will also have high expectations for myself. Such as, taking responsibility for my actions and to not drink or do drugs. The age 18 for me is irrelevant to the age I am now. The problem with that is that I like the age I am now. My father and my aunt always told me to stay a kid forever. When you weigh all this together, if I could stay 12 forever or even age backwards until I'm four I would. When I'm older I would love to be more mature and responsible than now. XOXO
